Teacher will introduce a unit on Impressionism and will provide a list of artists from which to choose. (We recommend an introductory course in web page design offered by the district.) The teacher will prepare the web site from the student's individual web pages or assign the task to a capable student (techno-dweeb).

You will need a computer(s) loaded with Claris Home Page and Netscape, and computer/scanner with software installed.

Discuss the web as dynamic medium and demonstrate the difference between a linear and relational site.

Plan and build a site map on poster board for the web master.

Design a home page to introduce the class project.

Research and word process a report on their chosen artist.

Create a work or reproduction of their favorite painting or drawing by their chosen artist.

Scan their artwork and format for web publication.

Combine the artwork and the word processed text* in the Claris Home Page program to complete a web page. *Note: Claris Home Page is available in Mac and Win format.

Post your work on a web server for all the world to see.

Link your site to a famous museum that features Impressionistic art.

Register your site on a search engine like Yahooligans.

Print the web pages (on CO color laser) and create a gallery.
