All graphics and photos on the Web must be saved in a particular format. If you have scanned the images into the computer with a scanner and they are not photographs, they must be saved as JPEG files. If you have taken pictures with a camera or scanned pictures they must be saved as GIF files (Follow the directions on scanning in the other section of this book).

When you get to the step where you have to save the image, you will get a box asking you to type the name of the file you want to save. Immediately below that is the menu that allows you to select the file format.

Point to the box and hold down the mouse button. The selections will appear. Select either JPEG or GIF. Click the save button.
