- Teacher will introduce the basics of investing in
the stock market (Watch for T & G Stock
Market Game ) . The class is divided into
five (5) groups and each group gets an imaginary $5000.00 for class total of
$25,000.00.

- Study and review business sections of newspapers
throughout the entire project (to remain informed in case of change) to find
good/bad news about companies.

- Review how to read the stock quotes paying
attention to price per share.

- Compare company stock prices.

- Will research past performance of selected stocks
using the Internet, such as, Wall Street
Stock Quotations on Wachusett Regional
High School Home Page (www.wrsd.net/highschool).

- Build a portfolio by buying stock. Determine how
many shares they can buy with their investment $$$. Use calculators to
figure the quantity of shares to be purchased, based on the price per share.

- Track the performance of the investment portfolio.

- Graph their group's portfolio performance weekly
and analyze their status. (Decide whether to hold or sell and invest in
another company. Be alert for better investment opportunities,)

- Post the graphs of each group's portfolio
performance.

- Use ClarisWorks
Investment Tracker or comparable wizard to
calculate and make graphs.
