Teacher chooses an activity or project to videotape ie. student play, classroom projects, book reports, etc.
 
 
You will need a video camera, blank video cassette, tripod, charged battery or AC connector. Arrange to have a media cart available for viewing and editing. Parents can provide blank video cassettes for home viewing.
 
Assign students tasks, i.e., camera crew, set design and lighting, equipment management. Teacher will direct.
 
 
Prepare a script for the introduction and any narration that will occur.

Be responsible for recording and editing* the video tape.

 
Make copies of video tape for parent video-letter.
 
 
Choose a school to swap penpal letters or access internet site like Kidsphere and begin a keypal exchange.
 
Research, describe and videotape a local historical site or community event for exchange with your pals.

Contact and interview a member of your local historical society and co- produce a video about an event in your community's past.
