- Teacher will introduce an animal study as part of
an environmental science unit and divide students into groups of 3 or 4 for
the project. Discuss with the class possible transformations i.e., life
cycle, animal action, or migration, etc. (Note: This lesson can be
integrated into plants, physical science, etc.)

- You will need a computer(s) loaded with ClarisWorks
or Microsoft
Works draw and paint program and access to
a color printer. You may want access to a media cart for class
presentations.

- Construct a story board of at least 10 scenes on
paper depicting a transformation as discussed.

- Open a Draw document
and set number of pages and margins.

- Create a master page with the background scene,
adjust the scene as necessary throughout the slides.

- Create a new folder to store your drawings of the
stages of the animal.

- Draw animal stages in Paint and transform copying,
pasting, and adjusting the image.

- Place your animal stages into the appropriate
scenes using copy and paste to create animated short or transformation.

- Present the completed document in Slide Show
format.
