Teacher will introduce an animal study as part of an environmental science unit and divide students into groups of 3 or 4 for the project. Discuss with the class possible transformations i.e., life cycle, animal action, or migration, etc. (Note: This lesson can be integrated into plants, physical science, etc.)
 
 
You will need a computer(s) loaded with ClarisWorks or Microsoft Works draw and paint program and access to a color printer. You may want access to a media cart for class presentations.

Construct a story board of at least 10 scenes on paper depicting a transformation as discussed.
 
Open a Draw document and set number of pages and margins.
 
Create a master page with the background scene, adjust the scene as necessary throughout the slides.
 
Create a new folder to store your drawings of the stages of the animal.
 
Draw animal stages in Paint and transform copying, pasting, and adjusting the image.
 
Place your animal stages into the appropriate scenes using copy and paste to create animated short or transformation.
 
Present the completed document in Slide Show format.
