- This activity card tells you how to bring charts,
maps, and other graphics into your multimedia project, either from an online
reference work or from a paint document you created.

- 1. Open the online encyclopedia or other online
reference work that you want to use. For example, you might want to use TIME
Magazine Multimedia Almanac or Grolier
Multimedia Encyclopedia.

- 2. Search for the graphic you want.

- 3. Use the built-in search tools to help you. For
example, to find a map of Great Britain in Grolier
Multimedia Encyclopedia, search on
"Britain."

- 4. Copy the graphic to the Clipboard.

- 5. Import the graphic into your project.

- 6. Open your multimedia project.

- 7. Go to the page or card where you want to insert
the graphic.

- 8. Choose Paste from the Edit menu to paste the
graphic from the Clipboard. If you saved your clippings in a file on the
desktop, use the instructions in the next section, "Using Your Own
Graphic," to insert each paint file into your multimedia project.

- 9. Since you did not create the graphic, give
credit to the source: TIME Magazine Multimedia Almanac, for example.

- 1. Create the graphic.

- 2. Use a drawing program or other tool to create a
graphic for your multimedia project. For example, use Claris
lmpact to create a timeline, or Color
It! to create a painting.

- 3. Save the document in PICT format.

- 4. Import the graphic into your project. (If
necessary, open your multimedia project.)

- 5. Go to the page or card where you want to insert
the graphic.

- 4. Import the graphic as you would any image - for
example, if you're using ), choose Add Clip Art from the File menu.
