CTMS PTO Minutes
February 3, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m.
Principal's Report
- Book Fair
o being coordinated by Lynn Burke for 4/12-4/16.
o Glenwood and Naquag book fair nights are the same as CTMS which was also the tentative date of BINGO night – 4/13. We will reschedule BINGO night.
- reviewed the NESDEC student projection report
o year after next – big class sizes in the 6th and 8th grade at CTMS
- Hearts for Haiti raised $1000 for Int. Red Cross – Haiti relief
- Part of the profits from the dance on 2/5 will go to Britney Gengel's Poorest of the Poor Fund
- Principal's Coffee and Chat – 2/12 from 9-10
- Movie and Dance – 2/5
The January minutes were reviewed and accepted with a change to the movie information…the movie door fees and snack fees netted $234. The $234 goes toward the movie license and the cost of the snacks.
Spaghetti Supper
- 3/18, 5:30 p.m and 6:45 p.m. seating
- risers will be on stage so we can accommodate 200 per seating
- Robyn Dudek to follow up with meatball donations
- Patty Inwood to coordinate volunteers
- Evan Lattimore and Christine Caruso will forward the list of students performing at each seating
Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council - Suzanne Smith gave an update on recent meetings
- Bus routes and the length of the routes were discussed
- Applied for a federal grant for teacher training
- Ad Hoc Revenue Generating Committee is trying to develop a pool of money that can be tapped into in the event of a budget deficit next year.
BINGO night
- Rescheduled to 5/21 to celebrate the completion of MCAS
Book Fair Suggestions for next year:
- Coordinate date with Naquag and Glenwood
- Have Language Arts teachers submit "wish lists" for their rooms with donation buckets at the book fair
