CTMS PTO Minutes
June 1, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.
Mrs. Alberghini attended the meeting to thank the PTO and deliver thank you notes from her class for the document scanner she requested and the box of books from the book fair that she was surprised to find on her desk. She is very grateful for the support of the CTMS PTO.
2011-2012 PTO Board
Robyn Dudek and Liz Craine submitted letters of intent for co-chair positions next year. Nancy Nichols submitted a letter of intent for the Secretary position. Stacey Wilman will remain as Treasurer. Volunteer Coordinator is still open. The PTO voted as unanimously approved all board positions.
May minutes were approved.
PTO Update
- Book Fair – Sales were $3, 937.13. $1,968.58 worth of books were donated to teacher’s classrooms. The Family Night worked well in conjunction with the 7th and 8th grade concert (sales were $1300). Stacy and Kristin had plenty of volunteers and the teachers really liked the Scholastic Book Fair.
- Spiritwear – Should be in by 6/10. Next year we may want to investigate combining with Glenwood and Naquag to have a common supplier.
- Scholarship – Sue Wheeler has a 6/1 deadline for applications.
- 8th Grade Activities – moving forward.
New Business
- Terracycle Recycle Guidelines to Terry Coffey for PTO files. CTMS has been recyling juice boxes and sandwich bags since January. Volunteers have to clean juice boxes and sandwich bags, maybe potential for community service project for next year. We will follow up with Michelle Daigle for potential NJHS students.
- Nancy Nichols presented a proposal for an Animal Adventures program. Final costs and administration approval is still pending. The PTO voted to approve up to $700 to fund the program if it could be scheduled for this school year.
