Dear Parents:
I am sure that you are
looking forward to relaxing and enjoying a fun Summer Vacation with your family, but
before school is out for the summer I would like to share the results of our recent survey.
One of the primary goals of
Central Tree is to demonstrate continued improvement in the quality and rigor
of our academic program to make Central Tree Middle School the best school in
the District. I would like to thank
those of you who participated in the parent survey that was sent out earlier
this spring. The purpose of this kind of survey is to collect as much
information as possible from parents in order to identify aspects of the school
environment that need improvement and those aspects that are successful.
Results of this survey will help in planning for school improvement.
Overall, parents responded
that they were satisfied with the academic quality of Central Tree with over
86% of respondents either agreeing or strongly agreeing. Areas that were less
favorable included topics such as homework relevance, providing parents with
suggestions to assist in their child’s learning, and the excitement level of
certain teachers in the classroom setting.
The specific findings of this
survey will be distributed and discussed among faculty in upcoming months and
into the new school year. In order to best share this information with the
public, we have also posted a detailed summary on our school webpage: http://www.wrsd.net/centraltree/centraltree.htm Click on the “2007 Quality of Academics
Survey Results” link on our homepage to review those findings.
As I wrap up my second year
as Principal, I would like to express my sincere gratitude in the ongoing
support I have received from parents and faculty. I appreciate your candidness
in your responses and ask that you continue to provide us with honest feedback
on how we are doing so that we can better serve the public.
Sincerely,
C. Erik Githmark
Principal
