CENTRAL TREE CLUBS
Drama Club:
Coordinator: Christine Caruso
Description of Club: The Drama Club produces between one and two productions each year. Practices are held on Monday afternoons in the Music Room from 3:00-5:00 PM in the cafeteria/stage. Mountain Bike Club:
Coordinator: Chris Stark
Description of Club: The Mountain Bike Club is dedicated to building and preserving bike trails in the central Massachusetts region. The team rides, builds confidence, stamina and overall understanding of mountain biking. The Bike Club consists of two teams of participants determined by their riding ability, consisting of the Intermediate/Beginner Team and Advanced Team. Practices are typically held on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons after school. Christopher_Stark@wrsd.net
Mathletes Club:
Coordinators: Cate Calise and Carol Herl
Description of Club: The Mathletes club typically meets the first and third Thursday of each month from 3:00-4:00 PM. There are 5 Monday competitions scheduled throughout the year within the Wachusett Regional School District with other competitions scheduled outside of the District when possible. Student Council:

Description of Club: The Student Council consists of a student-elected group of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Meetings are held on Thursday afternoons on a bi-weekly basis. This group meets throughout the school year. Kerrie_Ward@wrsd.net
Ski Club:
Coordinator: Robin Tarani
Description of Club: The Ski club ski/snowboards on Monday afternoons immediately after school between January and March at Mt. Wachusett Ski Mountain. Buses pick club members up at school and transport students to the mountain.
Lego Robotics Club:
Coordinators: Mike Sansoucy, Brendan Burke, Paul Vigneau
Description of Club: The Lego Robotics Club runs from late September to December. Participation is limited.
National Junior Honor Society:
Coordinator: Michele Daigle
Description of Group: The National Junior Honor Society meets a minimum of once a month, during Advisory periods and after school. Students are eligible for NJHS if they meet academic criteria outlined in the Student Handbook. Students vote on community service organizations and work together to volunteer their time as well as raise funds for their chosen organization. Possible volunteer opportunities include: 6th grade tutoring during advisory, boxtop trimming and counting and dance ticket/snack sales. Michele_Daigle@wrsd.net
Yearbook Club:
Coordinators: David Bronson, Jenn Smith
Description of Club: The Yearbook Club meets throughout the school year to put together the CTMS Yearbook which is distributed to students in June. Students meet to decide page layout formats, photographs to be used etc. The Photography Club works in tandem with the Yearbook Club and supplies the pictures for the yearbook while learning how to take good pictures along the way. This group meets occasionally in the fall and more frequently as deadlines approach throughout the winter and spring seasons. David_Bronson@wrsd.net
Game Club:

Description of Club: The Games Club meets on Thursday afternoons between November and April. The purpose of the CTMS Game Club is to provide students with an after-school opportunity to join with others who like to play board and card games. Games are available from the "Game Cart" and new games are shared and taught by the club advisors and other participants. The club meets on designated Thursdays from 3 to 4 PM in Room 127. Mural Club:

Description of Club: The Mural Club creates painted murals at school. In past years, murals have been created in the Gym, Stairwells, hallways, conference rooms and classrooms. The club meets at different times of the year, depending on the location, and level of complexity of their projects. Deb_Backstrom@wrsd.net
Jazz Band:
Coordinator: Evan Lattimore
Description of Group: The CTMS Jazz band is made available for students who have an interest in performing Jazz music. Rehearsals are held every Thursday from 3:00-4:00pm, October to May on the stage. The CTMS Jazz Band will perform in three evening concerts and the Senior Breakfast. Evan_Lattimore@wrsd.net
Track/Cross Country:
Description of Sport: The CTMS Track and Cross Country team meets between early September and late October each year. Practices take place on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday with several competitions held during the season. All participants need a signed parent permission slip and physical on file at the time of sign ups.
Field Hockey:
Description of Sport: The CTMS Field Hockey Team meets between early September and late October each year. Practices take place on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday with several games held throughout the season. All participants need a signed parent permission slip and physical on file at the time of sign ups.
Basketball:
Description of Sport: The Boy's and Girl's Basketball teams meet between late November and February Vacation. Practices take place on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday and several games are held throughout the season starting in January. All participants need a signed parent permission slip and physical on file at the time of sign ups.
Cheerleading:
Description of Sport: The CTMS Cheerleading squad meets between late November and early March. Practices take place on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday. This squad attends all home and away basketball games and also participates in cheering competitions outside of the basketball season. Practices take place on a daily basis, from Monday to Friday and several games are held throughout the season.
