  Demonstrate eye/hand coordination and manipulative skills through folding, tearing, cutting, pasting, assembling, paint application and coloring activities. Demonstrate folding, tearing and cutting paper, pasting and assembling various materials, painting and coloring techniques.

  - Demonstrate perceptual awareness by experimenting with basic art elements (color, line, shape, value, and texture).

- Name colors and identify the primary colors, explore qualities of line, recognize and reproduce basic shapes, observe value (light and dark), and show an awareness of texture (rubbings).

 

Show the color wheel and introduce color names and primary colors; describe variations of line (straight, curvy, thick, thin, diagonal, zig-zag); name basic shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, oval); demonstrate change of color through pressure of crayon; how to do texture rubbings.
With teacher guidance and direction, perform activities such as:
