Number Sense, Estimation, & Computation:

1. Expand concept of limit of an infinite sequence, series.

2. Develop, describe real-world problem situations from a geographical viewpoint.

3. Recognize, interpret the slope of a secant and tangent to a curve at a point.

4. Recognize function described in tabular format.

5. Estimate rate of change, total change of a funtion described in tabular format.

7. Recognize, interpret the maximum, minimum point/value of a function from a table.

 

Geometry and Measurement:

1. Interpret a function graphically.

2. Draw/interpret the derivatives, antiderivatives of a function graphically.

3. Interpret derivatives from a unit analysis viewpoint.

4. Draw/interpret the definite integral as the area under a curve.

5. Recognize, interpret the maximum/minimum point/value of a function from a graph.

6. Draw, interpret, compute the volume of a solid.

 

Patterns, Relations, and Functions:

1. Investigate limits by examining area under a curve; difference quotients.

2. Expand concept of a family of functions.

3. Recognize, dscribe the effect of parameter changes on families of functions.

4. Recognize, apply rules for differentiation, antidifferentiation.

 

Statistics & Probability:

1. Recognize, apply the average value of a function to the probability of an event.

Communications

Students will:

1. Relate physical materials, pictures, and diagrams to mathematical ideas.

2. Reflect on and clarify thinking about mathematical ideas and situations.

3. Relate everyday language to mathematical language and symbols.

4. Use the skills of reading, listening, and viewing to interpret and evaluate mathematical ideas.

5. Model situations by using oral, written, concrete, pictoral, graphical, and algebraic methods.
