Students will:

Number Sense, Estimation, & Computation:

1. Demonstrate an understanding and application of numbers, numerals, and sets of 0-9.

2. Formulate strategies for addition and recognition of whole numbers 0-9.

3. Demonstrate an understanding and application of estimation of objects and sets of 0-9.

4. Demonstrate an understanding and application of estimation of length, weight, and capacity.

5. Determine less than, more than, and equal to in relation to 0-9.

Geometry and Measurement:

1. Demonstrate an understanding and application of simple geometric shapes.

2. Identify and manipulate common patterns in daily life, such as numbers on a clock, events based on time, days of the week, money, temperature, etc.

Patterns, Relations, & Functions:

1. Demonstrate an understanding and application of simple patterns.

Statistics & Probability:

1. Demonstrate an understanding and application of simple data collection and representation to compare and predict.

Students will:

1. Relate physical materials, pictures, and diagrams to mathematical ideas.

2. Reflect on and clarify thinking about mathematical ideas and situations.

3. Relate everyday language to mathematical language and symbols.

4. Use the skills of reading, listening, and viewing to interpret and evaluate mathematical ideas.

5. Model situations by using oral, written, concrete, pictorial, graphical, and algebraic methods.
