Legos - Robotics

    Fifth grade engineers worked feverishly to design robots from Legos. Students met weekly after school to design, build, and program robots to take on certain tasks. They discovered that there was a great deal of effort to put into re-designing, re-building, and re-programming the robots to get to the tasks before them. Students worked with two parents, Mrs. Cappucci and Mrs.Walker for several weeks before demonstrating their efforts before the third, fourth and fifth grade students at Davis Hill. The course below was also designed by the student engineers to demonstrate certain tasks that may be asked of robots in the real world. The demonstration robots didn't always work according to design, but never-the-less the audience was thrilled. The fifth grade participants anxiously await the opportunity to join the Lego club at the Middle School next year. We hope to someday see them in a robotic meet someday. Good Luck to all!
