Principal's Welcome
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Welcome to Davis Hill Elementary School! It is the mission of our
school to improve the acquisition of knowledge, the appreciation of
tolerance for differences and diversity, and the development of the
skills for learning. Students who leave Davis Hill at the end of fifth
grade will be able to read, write and compute to a high standard; will
be able to make personal decisions which reflect ethical behavior and a
clear understanding of their own and other's self worth and dignity;
and will be prepared to further pursue their life's goals.
Davis Hill is characterized as a safe
and respectful community school, which has a high regard for enhancing
the talents and knowledge of all its students. By providing a safe,
trusting, and caring environment, and with an active participation of
parents and staff working together, we produce students who are not
afraid to be risk takers, have respect for self and others, and learn
and succeed at a level that will meet their highest potential.
The faculty of Davis Hill is here to
help you in the process of molding your child for success. The
resources and expertise of all the professionals in this school, and
throughout the school district, are in place to ensure the best
educational environment possible.
I encourage all parents and guardians
to please take time to look over our web site and learn a little about
our school, its teachers, and its history. There are links here that
will give you access to sites to learn about our curriculum and
instruction, assessments, parent involvement, projects and events, and
calendars that have up to date information regarding this school year.
I have monthly newsletters posted to keep you up to date about events
and happenings at Davis Hill, as well as in education in general.
In closing, I want you to know how
important the link is between school and home. I know this as a
teacher, principal, and most importantly, as a parent. I encourage
everyone to please take the time to connect with your child's teacher.
If you have any question at all about your child's day, homework, or
progress, send the teacher a note or call and leave a message. Please
also consider the importance of involvement in any one of the many
activities that take place here throughout the year. If everyone just
helped out at one of these events, our school would be that much
stronger. If you are not sure how to help, just call the main office
and we will connect you with the right person.
If at any time you have any questions please do not hesitate to call my office, or send me an e-mail.
Sincerely,
Mark Aucoin, Principal
