5th Grade Science Exposition ….

To:  Dawson School 5th Graders

Do you love science?  Would you like to perform a demonstration, conduct an experiment, share a collection or a passion you have and then present what you learned to others?

Consider participating in the Dawson 5th Grade Science Exposition which will take place March 17th during the Pancake Breakfast .  All science projects will be on display that morning in the gym from 9 AM until 11 AM.

Members of this year’s Student Council sought suggestions from classmates for  Student Council projects  and saw there was interest in science.  This is an opportunity to share an interest in any topic, not for a grade or a prize, but just for the pleasure of learning, investigating and teaching what you have learned .

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the bottom section of this form and have your parent sign it as well.  It is due back to your teacher by February 1, 2007.

You must indicate now if you plan to participate so that Student Council Members can

properly plan for this event.  We hope you will consider joining in the fun of the Science

Expo.  Dr. Dale Schimmel, WRSD District Supervisor for Math and Science has volunteered to meet with participants to shape ideas so that projects are creative and even possibly interactive. We have many books to help you generate ideas but please select a project for which you can find the necessary materials as we are unable to provide supplies.  All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
