DAWSON HEALTH OFFICE
Mrs. Johnson
Now that the hot weather is coming upon us - here are a few guidelines to follow:
- Apply sunscreen (use at least SPF15 and with UVA/UVB protection) before your child leaves for school, we are unable to apply it here at school.
- There are no shady areas at the school - so have your child wear a hat or visor.
- Send your child with a water bottle so he/she can drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
- Advise your child that if it is extremely hot- to limit running and jumping and to play less strenuous games.
Also, we remind you that "flip-flops" are not allowed as footwear at school. They give no support for running and it is very easy for wood chips to get between the sole of the foot and the flip-flop causing the child to lose their balance or twist their ankle.
Is your child's jacket or sweatshirt " missing" ? If you are in the school, please check the coat rack in the cafeteria. You may find it hanging there.
The Health Office is in need of clean, gentle worn sweatpants - sm., med. and a few large. (boys and girls)
Stay healthy and happy.
