Important Schedule Change - Please read!
On November 4, 2015, Mountview Middle School WILL be in session. The day is currently listed as a professional development day for the WRSD and other schools will not be in session on November 4th. As we plan ahead for the move to the new school, we intend to reschedule the November day in the spring. This will allow us to have a full day of school, without students, to set up classrooms in the new school. The tentative plan to move move to our new school will be mid-April 2016. Much work needs to be done between now and our intended move date, so the official move date and rescheduled November professional development day have not be set. As we get closer to the move, we will be sure to share the dates and plans associated with our move to the new school. Again, remember that Mountview WILL be in session on November 4th, 2015.
Thank you in advance for your support. We are looking forward to an exciting time in the history of Mountview and the Town of Holden.

Guides for Parents
Attention all parents: this year, we have several students in our school with severe food allergies. Please click here to read an important letter containing information related to food allergies. Also, please click here to view a list of allowed snack/food items to send to school with your child. We hope that everyone will be cooperative in this venture, so that we can help to ensure the safety of all Mountview students.
Attention parents: when sending in notes to the office, please be sure to include your child's first and last name. Parents and children often have different last names and parental signatures can be difficult to read. Including both names helps to eliminate any confusion.
Attention parents/guardians of 7th grade students: please click here to read a letter from Superintendent McCall regarding criteria for Grade 8 placement in Algebra classes.
Important information regarding morning extra help - please read!
Attention all students and parents: morning extra help does not begin until 7:30. In fact, some teachers do not start their extra help until 7:40 or 7:45. Students should come into the office to see if their teacher is available. If not, students must wait outside until their teacher is ready for students, because there is no supervision available inside the building. With the onset of cold weather, students should dress appropriately for waiting outside.
Important Information Regarding Private HS Registration Process:
If you are planning to have your child attend a private/ independent school in high school, please follow the guidelines below to ensure that paperwork is completed by Mountview staff and mailed in a timely manner:
1. Allow five school days for requests to be processed.
2. Sign the transcript release allowing the school to mail records to the receiving school.
3. Be sure to include a stamped and addressed envelope to the receiving school.
Attention 7th Grade: the word of the week is differentiate - a person or thing can be made different in some way.
Did you miss the informational meeting on the Creative Writing Club? Don't worry - you haven't missed the opportunity to join! Attend our next meeting, this Wednesday after school in Room 314, or stop in to Room 312 on Wednesday or Friday morning. All are welcome!
MONTY TECH INFO
On Monday, October 19th, 2015, 8th grade students will have the opportunity to visit Monty Tech to tour the facility and begin to make decisions about their future education. Monty Tech will provide a lunch for all students attending this event. Students wishing to attend this event MUST return a signed permission slip by Friday October 9th. Please see Mr. McCarthy in the office for a permission slip and feel free to contact Mr. McCarthy or Monty Tech with any questions.

Attention parents: the Presidential Awards are given out at graduation each year to deserving 8th grade students. Please click here to access a flyer that contains all of the necessary criteria required for receiving this award. Please note: this is a national award so the criteria is set by an outside commission, not Mountview staff.
Help support Mountview's PTA through the My Coke Rewards Program! Click here to print out an information sheet on the program. There is no need to log onto the Coke website to donate points - just put your caps and box ends in a bag and drop them off in the PTA mailbox in the Mountview office. It couldn't be any easier!
The PTA is also collecting empty bags from any Lay's snacks and empty pouches from any type of pouch drink, not just Capri Sun and Honest Kids!
Please support our CLAP Program (Coke, Lays, and Pouches) and help the PTA earn money and school supplies!
