Attention parents: when sending in notes to the office, please be sure to include your child's first and last name. Parents and children often have different last names and parental signatures can be difficult to read. Including both names helps to eliminate any confusion.

Attention parents/guardians of 7th grade students: please click here to read a letter from Superintendent McCall regarding criteria for Grade 8 placement in Algebra classes.

Important information regarding morning extra help - please read!

Attention all students and parents: morning extra help does not begin until 7:30. In fact, some teachers do not start their extra help until 7:40 or 7:45. Students should come into the office to see if their teacher is available. If not, students must wait outside until their teacher is ready for students, because there is no supervision available inside the building. With the onset of cold weather, students should dress appropriately for waiting outside.

Parents: It's flu season! Please click here for an important fact sheet regarding the flu and when to keep your child home. By adhering to these guidelines, you can help us prevent the spread of the flu and flu like symptoms here at Mountview. We want everyone here to stay healthy, so please read!

As of April 7, we will be in need of a morning crossing guard to safely cross students in front of school on Shrewsbury Street from 7:30-8:10 each morning. If you are interested or would like more information, please call principal Erik Githmark at 508-829-5577 or by email at Erik_Githmark@wrsd.net

2015 Mountview Middle School Parent Survey:

The Mountview MS 2015 Parent Survey is now available. This survey has been created with input from the Mountview School Improvement Council and is administered on a yearly basis. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we would appreciate it if you would take a few moments to share your thoughts and opinions. The survey will only be available to parents through April 10. Please take a few moments to fill it out. As an added incentive, if we have a response rate of over 60%, we will have a no homework night for students later this spring.

Attention 8th Graders: if you are not attending WRHS in the fall, please stop by the office to pick up a final release of records form.

A reminder to students that took the NAEP exam - your snack coupons expire this week. Please use them before vacation.

Attention all Kids in the Kommunity and SPEAK members: Please see Ms. Hughes today if you missed the meeting yesterday and would like to take part in one of our biggest events, Pay it Forward Day on Saturday, May 2nd. KiK officers , please see Ms. Hughes TODAY to pick up your Pay it Forward Day flyers that you will be distributing to local businesses next week.

Reminder: all Band students should take their instruments home over break.

Any Mathletes who would like to participate in the St. John's Math Invitational needs to return a signed permission slip by Friday April 17th. Please see Mr. Hill or Mrs. O'Connor if you need a permission slip or have questions.

Left Over Winter Wear and Winter Gear

A lot of items were left behind in the gym after the unit on snow shoeing and cross country skiing ended.  These items will be placed on tables in front of the office. If you are missing any items, be sure to check out these tables!

Items that are not picked up by April 17th will be donated over April vacation.

Help Mountview's PTA!

Good Morning Mountview Families,

Please take a few minutes to think about the teachers and staff at Mountview, then add a word (or a few words) that you think best describes them below their name. Please be positive and creative in your comments, and avoid the word "nice"...it's too generic! The results from this survey will be used to create a fun little surprise for the staff during Teacher Appreciation week.

Please fill in as many or as few as you like. If you're looking for a specific person, hit the control key and the F key simultaneously, and a search box will appear in the upper right corner. Start typing a name in that box, and the search will direct you to that name. Use the arrows next to the box to toggle between multiple entries of the same name (for example, there are 3 Hughes).

All responses should be received by May 1st and all comments will remain anonymous. We'd love to get input from students, staff and parents!

Thanks for helping,
The Mountview PTA

Help support Mountview's PTA through the My Coke Rewards Program! Click here to print out an information sheet on the program. There is no need to log onto the Coke website to donate points - just put your caps and box ends in a bag and drop them off in the PTA mailbox in the Mountview office. It couldn't be any easier!

The PTA is also collecting empty bags from any Lay's snacks and empty pouches from any type of pouch drink, not just Capri Sun and Honest Kids!

Please support our CLAP Program (Coke, Lays, and Pouches) and help the PTA earn money and school supplies!

Homework Requests

FYI, homework requests are not done until a student has been absent for three days. Please request the homework when you call your child in sick on the morning of the third day. Many teachers post assignments on their websites, so it is a good idea to check there first whenever your child is absent.
