Due to the forecasted snowstorm, school in the WRSD has been canceled for Tuesday, January 27th.
Due to the forecast for inclement weather, all after school activities have been canceled for this afternoon, Monday January 26th. This includes Ski Club, Homework Zone, athletic practices and any and all club meetings. All students will be going home via their normal dismissal procedure - either by bus, by parent pickup or as a walker. NO students will be staying after school for ANY reason today!
Monty Tech has canceled the VIP Program scheduled for Wednesday, January 28th. The makeup date will be February 25th. No students should report to Mountview this Wednesday afternoon for this program.
Attention parents: when sending in notes to the office, please be sure to include your child's first and last name. Parents and children often have different last names and parental signatures can be difficult to read. Including both names helps to eliminate any confusion.
Attention Mountview parents: there has been a confirmed case of Pertussis (Whooping Cough) at Mountview. Please click here for an informational sheet from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. While the exposure to Mountview students was minimal due to the winter break, we would like you to be informed of the signs and symptoms. Please contact your child's physician if you have any concerns.

Important information regarding morning extra help - please read!
Attention all students and parents: morning extra help does not begin until 7:30. In fact, some teachers do not start their extra help until 7:40 or 7:45. Students should come into the office to see if their teacher is available. If not, students must wait outside until their teacher is ready for students, because there is no supervision available inside the building. With the onset of cold weather, students should dress appropriately for waiting outside.
Parents: It's flu season! Please click here for an important fact sheet regarding the flu and when to keep your child home. By adhering to these guidelines, you can help us prevent the spread of the flu and flu like symptoms here at Mountview. We want everyone here to stay healthy, so please read!
The Recycling Committee and NJHS are encouraging you to bring in any sized plastic bottles to Mrs. Neilan's room or Mrs. Hagenbuch's room for an upcoming fashion show. Thanks!
A reminder to all staff and students that today is the first day of Term 3. Related Arts classes in grades 7 and 8 will rotate. 6 Blue will now have Seminar MWF and Art on TTh. 6 Gold will have Art MWF and Seminar TTh. Lunches will now run 7, 8, 6.

Attention all students auditioning for Central District: you must turn in a signed permission slip in order to carpool to auditions this coming Saturday. Your teacher can give you a copy of this slip, and you must turn it in before the day of the audition.
The Bowl-a-thon has been postponed until February 7th! Hope to see you there!!
Attention Mountview: the Kids in the Kommunity will be holding its 3rd annual Bowl-a-thon for Sherry's house this Saturday, January 24th. You can form a group of 6 and pay $10 each if you're playing for fun, or you can pay $12 each if your group will be competing to win tickets to Sky Zone. Organize your teams of 6 now We've extended the registration deadline to this Friday, January 23rd. Get a registration form from Mrs. Hughes at lunch and pass in your registration to Ms. Hughes in Room 106 no later than Friday. Have fun and help families who are affected by cancer!
The Bin Inspectors will be meeting in Room 312 during Activity Period on Tuesday. Please be there.
Attention Mountview: the Kids in the Kommunity Mitten Tree and Cell Phones for Soldiers drive continues throughout this month. Please consider donating your gently used winter wear or old cell phone to these worthy causes. The Mitten Tree and Cell phone donation boxes are located in the front lobby until January 31st. Monty Tech Info
Monty Tech's VIP program will be held on January 14th, 21st, and 28th (postponed til 2/25 due to forecasted snow storm) and February 4th and February 11th for any 7th and 8th graders who registered to participate. Students will leave Mountview on each of these days at approximately 1:55pm and will return to Mountview at approximately 5:30pm. Students should have a ride waiting for them when they return to Mountview each of those days.

Attention parents: the Presidential Awards are given out at graduation each year to deserving 8th grade students. Help support Mountview's PTA through the My Coke Rewards Program! Click here to print out an information sheet on the program. There is no need to log onto the Coke website to donate points - just put your caps and box ends in a bag and drop them off in the PTA mailbox in the Mountview office. It couldn't be any easier!
The PTA is also collecting empty bags from any Lay's snacks and empty pouches from any type of pouch drink, not just Capri Sun and Honest Kids!
