Attention all parents: this year, we have several students in our school with severe food allergies. Please click here to read an important letter containing information related to food allergies. Also, please click here to view a list of allowed snack/food items to send to school with your child. We hope that everyone will be cooperative in this venture, so that we can help to ensure the safety of all Mountview students.

Attention parents: when sending in notes to the office, please be sure to include your child's first and last name. Parents and children often have different last names and parental signatures can be difficult to read. Including both names helps to eliminate any confusion.

Attention parents/guardians of 7th grade students: please click here to read a letter from Superintendent McCall regarding criteria for Grade 8 placement in Algebra classes.

Important information regarding morning extra help - please read!

Attention all students and parents: morning extra help does not begin until 7:30. In fact, some teachers do not start their extra help until 7:40 or 7:45. Students should come into the office to see if their teacher is available. If not, students must wait outside until their teacher is ready for students, because there is no supervision available inside the building. With the onset of cold weather, students should dress appropriately for waiting outside.

Important Information Regarding Private HS Registration Process:

If you are planning to have your child attend a private/ independent school in high school, please follow the guidelines below to ensure that paperwork is completed by Mountview staff and mailed in a timely manner:
1. Allow five school days for requests to be processed.
2. Sign the transcript release allowing the school to mail records to the receiving school.
3. Be sure to include a stamped and addressed envelope to the receiving school.
Please contact Erik Githmark at Erik_Githmark@wrsd.net if you have any questions.

Congratulations to all Track team members who participated in yesterday's district meat.  Although both teams finished second, you all did a great job with many very fine individual efforts.

The Girls- were led by Bryn Burnham, Olivia Cwalinski, Sarah Dukan, K and T Giwa, Alexis Roy, Amyah Santana , Megan Desanty , Hannah Berry , and Emma Viens

The Boys - were led by Matt Alzamera, Conor Gaudette, Ethan Bowlin, Jack Houlihan, Robert Marchand, and Jack McClean.

There will be no practice today or tomorrow.

Our next meet will be Tuesday May 31st for grades 6 and 7 at Chocksett.

Attention Kids in the Kommunity :

We will be holding a special meeting for anyone interested in helping with Holden's Memorial Day Parade this coming Monday.  The Holden Town Selectmen have decided that the Kids in the Kommunity will be involved with special jobs this year.  If you want to take part, come to the meeting this Friday in the gym.  6th graders and officers, please arrive by 7:15, and 7th and 8th graders, please arrive promptly at 7:30

As of September 9, we will be in need of a morning crossing guard to safely cross students in front of school on Shrewsbury Street from 7:30-8:10 each morning. If you are interested or would like more information, please call principal Erik Githmark at 508-829-5577 or by email at Erik_Githmark@wrsd.net

Presidential Award Info

Attention parents: the Presidential Awards are given out at graduation each year to deserving 8th grade students. Please click here to access a flyer that contains all of the necessary criteria required for receiving this award. Please note: this is a national award so the criteria is set by an outside commission, not Mountview staff.

Help support Mountview's PTA through the My Coke Rewards Program! Click here to print out an information sheet on the program. There is no need to log onto the Coke website to donate points - just put your caps and box ends in a bag and drop them off in the PTA mailbox in the Mountview office. It couldn't be any easier!

The PTA is also collecting empty bags from any Lay's snacks and empty pouches from any type of pouch drink, not just Capri Sun and Honest Kids!

Please support our CLAP Program (Coke, Lays, and Pouches) and help the PTA earn money and school supplies!

Homework Requests

FYI, homework requests are not done until a student has been absent for three days. Please request the homework when you call your child in sick on the morning of the third day. Many teachers post assignments on their websites, so it is a good idea to check there first whenever your child is absent.
