Attention Grade 8 students and parents: The high school mailed home course selection sheets for 9th grade on Thursday 3/11, to all grade 8 students. These forms must be signed by a parent and returned to Mountview no later than Tuesday, March 16th. All students need to return a signed form, regardless of whether or not they will be attending WRHS in the fall.
The Mountview Middle School family is saddened by the news that our colleague and friend, Lydia Walz, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday afternoon, October 14th. Lydia loved teaching and was highly respected by her students. This kind, gentle woman touched many lives during the time she spent at Mountview.

Attention all parents: Boxtops are due in the office by Wednesday, February 24th in order to be counted for this year's tally. We have earned over $500 for our school so far this year and would like to have one final push for funds before they close out at the end of February. Still continue to collect the Boxtops after this and send them into the office as they will count towards next year's tally. Thank you for your support!
A note from the office: If your child will have an alternate dismissal plan (not the regular bus), please submit a letter to the office so that we can plan for this. When sending notes to the office for any occasion, please be sure to clearly write your child's first and last names.
Order forms for next year's school supply kits will be sent home with all students this Friday, March 12th. Orders must be placed by April 7th. The order forms will also be available on line (but not just yet!). Check this space again for a link to the order form.
Reminder that next Wednesday, March 17th, is a half day of school. Mountview's dismissal will begin at approximately 11:45am.
Attention Wind Ensemble students: Wind Ensemble will meet after school on Tuesday, March 16th, from 3-4pm in room 212. All members who expect to visit the elementary schools this spring should attend.
Just a reminder that the remaining group pictures of Mountview's clubs and organizations will be taken next Thurday during activity period. These pictures are for the yearbook.
There is a Student Council meeting on Wednesday morning at 7:30am in Room 300.
A silver iPod Nano was lost at the play. If found, please return it to the office. A cash reward is being offered.
There were many items left in the library after the play this weekend. If you lost something, please come to the library to check it out and claim it.
Softball practice will be held today from 3-4:30 for all 8th graders, pitchers and catchers. Tomorrow's practice will be for 7th grade only.
Mountview is now collecting shoes to send to Haiti. Please go through your old shoes or bring in new shoes and leave them on the table in the foyer (in front of the office) during the next two weeks. The people in Haiti could really use our help!
Registration forms for any girls interested in playing in the Holden Girls Softball League are available in the office.
Spring pictures will be taken today, Monday, March 15th in the mini-gym during all Related Arts classes. Order forms were sent home with students on Thursday, March 11th.
Orders are now being taken for Mountview's 2010 yearbook. The cost is $30 and checks should be made payable to WRSD.
The VIP program at Monty Tech continues on Wednesday, March 31st. Students will be dismissed from Mountview at 2:10 and return to Mountview at approximately 5:45. All students should have a ride home waiting for them at Mountview at 5:45pm. Mountview will not attend the VIP program on March 17th due to an early release day.
MCAS testing for all grades will take place on March 24th and 25th and grade 7's ELA long composition will take place on Tuesday, March 23rd. Please be sure to have students arrive on time to school each of those days. We are also in need of snacks for these testing dates, specifically small water bottles and pretzels. Please send these donations in by Monday, March 22nd to the office or to your child's homeroom teacher. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
