Readers' Workshop: 

Unit of Study is Nonfiction genre. Lessons will focus on reading strategies related to understanding nonfiction reading. Students will be reading material related to their research papers.

RESEARCH PAPER: Students have been provided with materials to begin a research paper on a topic of choice (must be teacher approved). Included in the student research folder is a research criteria sheet that includes all check in dates, a teacher sign off sheet with due dates, and a bibliography format/sample sheet. Additionally, Mrs. Thackeray has provided  instruction in library skills that will help with accessing print sources through a computer. (Additional library information is located at the bottom of this web page.) NEXT CHECK IN DATE IS FRIDAY, 3/12. PAPER DUE MARCH 26.

 ALL RESEARCH, NOTE CARDS, AND BIBLIOGRAPHY CARDS SHOULD BE COMPLETE BY FRIDAY, 3/12.

Every student received as an ELA textbook The Write Source. This book has a research section that outlines the process that is used in class and contains a sample paper, outline, and bibliography (sections 271 to 286).

Writers' Workshop: Class time will be provided to read and write for the research paper. Students are encouraged to bring materials to class so that they can work in school and receive additional teacher assistance if needed.

 STUDENTS SHOULD BRING RESEARCH MATERIALS TO CLASS AS CLASS TIME IS GIVEN TO WORK ON THE PROJECT.

Spelling 16 due Tuesday, 3/9. Spelling 15 & 16 test on Wednesday, 3/10
