For Students Entering Grade 4:

June 2017

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to 4th grade.  We are looking forward to a fun and productive year.

This summer we are asking students to read at least two books, 1 fiction and 1 nonfiction.  They should be reading on a daily basis for at least 20 minutes.

Students should continue to practice their number facts (multiplication and division).  It is expected that students will master multiplication and division facts by mid-fourth grade.

Your child will need the following items to start off the school year:

  • Varied colored two pocket folders (5)

  • A dozen #2  pencils

  • 1 subject spiral notebooks (8)

  • Two sets of colored pencils (12 or 24)

  • Ultra fine black sharpies (2 or more)

  • Highlighters (2)

  • Manual pencil sharpener

  • Glue sticks (5)

  • A pair of scissors

  • Expo Markers (4- not yellow)

  • Ruler – plastic, needs inches and cm

  • 1  pencil box to hold school supplies

Please label all of your child’s supplies.  Some supplies may need to be replenished during the school year.  PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE A 3 RING BINDER OR TRAPPER KEEPER!

We will gladly accept any of the following donations for our homerooms:

  • Liquid soap (foaming kind works great!)

  • Plastic spoons, forks and napkins

  • Disinfectant wipes

Have a wonderful summer.... see you when school starts.
