A Message from Principal French

Happy New Year! I'm glad we were able to make it through the holiday season without a natural disaster!

I am amazed that we are half way through the school year and will soon be celbrating the 100th day of school.
I have enjoyed every minute working at PCS. I have come to learn about the school and community culture and I have gotten to know many of the students and their families. The last six months have not been without challenges and I have welcomed them as an opportunity to learn and grow as an administrator, a teacher and a person.  It would be ideal to have everything work out the way we want to all the time, but nothing is perfect and we cannot always forsee things that are going to happen and we have to learn from events or mistakes to make sure they are not repeated!

The basketball season is underway and we have an amazing group of girls and boys on each team as well as a determined cheerleading team. I have seen a lot of leadership and team work in the past few months. I am thrilled that this opportunity will be extended into the spring with our FIRST school baseball and softball teams. Thanks to the Paxton Little League board for working with us to make this happen. The Middle School Students are a little excited to say the least! This is a super thing for PCS!

The sight of spring in the distance also brings with it the first round of MCAS testing in March in English Language Arts. Teachers continue to prepare students with the learning they need to master the Massachusetts frameworks and the instruction that will provide them the foundation they need to succeed on the MCAS. We will approach the MCAS with the same positive outlook that PCS attacks all other challenges with.

The School Improvement Council has been hard at work looking at ways to improve all areas at PCS and are currently working on a new Mission and Vision statement that will drive decisions being made at PCS to keep us focused on what we want for our students as they graduate from PCS every year!

Truly,

Mrs. French
