"The Wachusett Regional School District should
strive to provide the best education possible for all of our students.
We must be mindful of the residents' ability to pay for this education,
but at the same time, once we have lost a year in a student's
education, we never get that year back." |

believe that public education is the foundation of our
community, and we as a School Committee have a responsibility to
give our students the finest and fullest educational experience
possible. The District has built a reputation for academic
excellence. Though we face difficult economic times,
we must continue to fulfill our educational mission while managing the
District's finances in a fiscally prudent manner." |

"I believe that education has a dual purpose. On one hand, the mission is to prepare our youngsters to become productive citizens, i.e. persons who can carry their own weight. To be able to do this, students need to have their tools sharpened. Thus, once they finish their formal education, they must be able to step into the real world ready to take their place in the community. On the other hand, education has the moral obligation to develop the whole person. Students should become familiar with the civilization process that has gone on through the millennia and with the values we have been able to distill out from this evolving experience." |

"I believe that every child has the
ability to learn and the rate of learning and level of complexity
mastered is as unique as the child himself. It takes innovative, creative
educators working closely with committed parents to produce
academically sound, well-rounded students. I believe that it is the
responsibility of all members of our community to ensure the Regional
School System is successful in its mission." |

before us, the "golden age" of humanity is in the future, ahead of us.
To reach this future we need communities of open minds, shared

about how our world works, but to tackle problems vigorously. This
means continuous learning, engaging peers, sharing ideas, and a
willingness to push the boundaries." |

"As a member of the Committee, I look forward to getting an even closer look at the great work that Wachusett educators do for our children. It is a privilege to support the teachers, administrators, and support staff as they work to meet the diverse needs of each of our students. I believe the critical issues facing our District are: 1.) Maintaining educational excellence in tough economic times; 2.) Fostering an environment where our excellent teachers want to stay and work; and 3.) Promoting and encouraging parents' involvement in the education of their children." |
