Senior
Kayla DeSanty, Junior Steph Noel, Sophomore Brianna Sullivan and Freshman
Cecelia Mahan broke the school record in the Girls 400 Freestyle Relay at the Mid Wach Swimming & Diving
Championships yesterday. Brianna Sullivan won the 100 Breast stroke and Ryan
Spodick qualified for sectionals in both the 50 & 100 Freestyle helping the
team capture third place overall. The team’s season record was 11-3-1. Great
Season everyone!
Members
of Think Globally, Act Locally should see Mrs. Colwell-Arbour for a
pass for the yearbook photo in the upper school office before school on Monday
or after school today.
Melodies will
be meeting today after school in the chorus room.
Anime
Club will meet Monday after school in room C108. If you want to be in the yearbook
please stop and see Mrs. Cross for a pass.
Any member of both the varsity
and freshmen math teams must get a pass from Miss DiLeo in E212 for the
teams club photo on Monday.
Ping Pong Club will meet in the
cafeteria after school today. New
members are welcome.
The yearbook will be selling homemade
chocolate covered sugar cookie lollipops for Valentine's Day, order forms will be available in
he-man office and at the school store
Mark your calendars! Hypnotist,
Dan Candall will be here Friday, March 16. Tickets will go on sale in March.
NHS meeting Tuesday, February 7 after school in the
Media Center. Don't forget $5 for
the Heifer project drive. New
members should also bring $10 dues if they have not already paid.
The "Wachusett Closet" (formerly Re-chusett) is raffling off a home made
quilt to raise funds to support their mission. "Wachusett Closet" is a club dedicated to
providing clothing and other necessities to needy WRHS students. Club members collect items of apparel,
launder them, size them, and keep the closet organized. Staff members identify and assist needy
students who want to "shop" the closet. Please consider supporting this worthy cause by taking a
chance to win this beautiful quilt.
Tickets can be purchased at the main office for $2 each or 3 for
$5. The quilt is on display in the
main office. The drawing will take
place on Friday, February 10.
Club photo
day will take place Monday, February 6 in the auditorium. Make sure you see your club advisor to
get a pass.
The Winter Carnival Dance is just around the corner!
The dance is Saturday, February 11 from
7-11 at the DCU center. Tickets
are $15 and are on sale for "Wachusett students only" this week. Tickets may be purchased by check only
made out to "WRHS." Cash will not be accepted. If you want to bring a guest from
another school you must have a guest permission slip filled out. They are located on the table outside
the main office or on wrsd.net/highschool. Tickets to guests will go on sale on Monday, February
6. We can only sell a limited amount of tickets, so if it is
your intention to go to the dance get your ticket early.
During
snack time throughout the rest of the month of February Think Globally, Act
Locally will be collecting money for the Heifer Project. The Heifer Project is an international
organization that provides livestock for families in need around the
world. The livestock provide food
and drink as well as a source of money for families. In addition, the families are obligated to pass on the
offspring of the livestock to their neighbors. Please donate to the Heifer Project by giving your donation
to your teacher during snack time.
The teacher that raises the most money will be able to choose which
animals to buy with the funds raised by Wachusett!
Mountaineer Volunteers is
holding a food drive until February
17 for the Wachusett Food Pantry so bring in all your non-perishables to
donate.
