The JV2 Volleyball team continued their winning ways yesterday by defeating Doherty 3-0. Ella Pender, Katelynn Galena and Kaiya Johnson led the team. Their record is now 5-0.
The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Doherty yesterday 3-0. The team was led by Mikayla Philbin with 3 aces and 8 assists, Liv Smith with 4 aces and 4 kills, and Zoe Coleman who went on a 7 point service run which included 3 aces. The team record is now 3-2.
DECA will be holding their first meeting of the year after school today in H103/105.
The Middle School Tutoring club will meet after school today in E216. Help middle-schoolers with their homework while earning volunteer hours!
The Fashion club will meet after school today in J101 to discuss the Club Fair, guest speakers and a fashion trip to NYC.
Poetry club will meet after school today in C212. New members are welcome!
The Math Honor Society will have their first meeting of the year tomorrow morning before school at 7:10 in room E216.
The Be Like Brit club will have its first meeting of the year after school tomorrow in room D108. All are welcome to attend! Snacks will be provided! If you are interested in the club but cannot make the meeting, please contact Mrs. Hickey or Mrs. Hahn for more information.
Hello Art students! Join us for our first National Art Honors Society meeting after school tomorrow in J107. We have an exciting year of art making planned and welcome any new members to join our artist collective. See Mrs. Wiles for details.
The Mountaineer Volunteers will be having their first meeting next Monday at 2:30 in the teacher's cafe. Old and new members are welcome. Come to the meeting to hear about the ways that we can help others in our community. We look forward to seeing you there!
There will be an informational meeting for anyone who is interested in traveling to Paris and Barcelona on Wednesday, September 26th at 6pm in the auditorium. The trip will take place during April vacation in the spring of 2020. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Montiverdi.
The 2018-2019 Free and Reduced Lunch Applications are due before October 1 to confirm eligibility for the current school year. A new form must be completed each year and submitted to Mrs. Scott in the Guidance office. After October 1, your child(ren) will be paying full price for meals if a new application has not been received. Applications (both printable and electronic form) can be found on the Food Services page of the WRSD website. New Members Sought for WRHS School Council
Wachusett Regional High School is seeking parents to serve on its School Improvement Council (SIMCO). The School Council is an advisory group to the principal with a focus on the School Improvement Plan and parental survey. The Council meets on the second Tuesday of the month, at 6:00 p.m., in the high school's main office conference room (#A106). Our first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Attention sophomores & juniors: the PSAT’s will be administered on Saturday October 13th from 8:00am-12:00pm here at Wachusett.
Fall Driver Education classes are now available for sign up for the October/November session, being held in the evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. For more detailed information on the classes and to sign up please visit the WRHS Driver Education website.
Agenda books are still available in the Main Office for $5, and chrome book covers are available with Mr. Costa for $12. Cash or checks made payable to WRSD are acceptable.
Any student interested in being an office volunteer during a study hall class should see Mrs. Belcher in the Main Office for more information.
The volleyball team is looking for 2-3 managers to work all home matches this year. Experience is preferred but not required. Please see Mrs. Burton in the PE area if you are interested.
If you are interested in becoming a CLA (Classroom Learning Assistant) there is an application on the 11th and 12th-grade class pages. Please see Mrs. Bosco with any questions in room E113.
The Wachusett Regional High School Chapter of the National Business Honor Society is now accepting applications for membership. In order to qualify you must have completed or be enrolled in your third business course here at the high school, in addition to meeting certain academic goals. If you feel that you may qualify for membership please see Mrs. Jeffcoat, Mr. Crowley or Ms. Foss-DeLuca in the Business Department.
Because the only thing better than a piece of pie is a second helping, Rhubarb Pie is back! We're looking for submissions of your original work (art, writing, music, videos) to publish in the Fall 2018 edition. The Mountaineer Boosters are gearing up for another year, with a full schedule of events and programs. Consider taking a Mountaineer Boosters membership and helping this group help WRHS.
Senior Yearbooks for the Class of 2018 are in process and estimated to arrive mid-October. A notice will be sent out once they have arrived and are ready for pick-up. Information on Yearbooks for the Class of 2019 can be found on the Senior Class page.
