Welcome back! It was wonderful to see students excited to be back to school!
Per our District Assessment Calendar, STAR Assessments for students in grades 1-8 will take place between 9/13 and 9/24. The Gr. K Early Literacy Assessment will be administered between 10/4-10/15. The immediate information we receive on our students is very important and will assist in identifying strengths and areas to target instruction.
In order to support you as you administer STAR Testing, Administration Resources have been created by our own Matt Haynes, and can be found in this STAR shared google drive.
For each of the three tests (Early Literacy, Reading, and Math) there are two slide decks for staff to view:
- The Student Prep Activity has 2 slides of instructions for teachers, and the rest can be shown (with audio, if desired) on classroom displays to students. This previews the experience for the kids and solicits questions. There are also a number of teacher notes in the speaker notes area.
- The Day of Test Instructions are just that - a merging of the Star script with teacher prep and troubleshooting steps. There are a few slides teachers can show on displays, but most of it is meant for teachers to just read off the screen.
