Location: Mountview Middle School, 270 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520, in Room C108
Time: 8:15AM - 2:45PM
Items to Bring: All participants are reminded to bring their laptops to the training.
Arrival and Parking Advice: Teachers should park to the left or back of the school. Please plan accordingly as the training and the school start time are both at 8:15 AM.
Training Description:
Prepare to implement and support Amplify ELA instruction in your schools! Learn how Amplify ELA supports students through rigorous and engaging ELA instruction. Participants will navigate the Amplify ELA platform, learn to give feedback on student work, and explore how to use Amplify ELA’s embedded supports and Reporting app to monitor student progress. Participants will leave with an action plan to begin teaching Amplify ELA at the beginning of next school year!
Here is an update on other aspects of our adoption:
1. Your MS ELA Community of Practice is having its first meeting on Monday, April 3, 2023 and will inform and support the planning and implementation of Amplify ELA. The expectation is to fully implement at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
2. Twelve teachers have volunteered to pilot a unit in May. Thanks to these volunteers, all of our Gr. 6-8 ELA teachers will have their online Teacher Accounts available before the end of this school year.
3. All the physical materials for next year are in the process of being inventoried at each school (thank you Principals!). In this way you can preview materials, and know they will be in place for use at the beginning of next year.
We are looking forward to next week’s training!
